What is stored, and when

The sign-in cookie is set only after you sign in. The others are set only if you use the theme toggle, the assistant, Change city, or start filling in a form. None of them carries an advertising identifier.
Where each one is readable
The sign-in cookie is sent to our server with every request, because that is how the server knows the request is yours. It is scoped to this site and marked SameSite=Lax, so your browser does not attach it to requests started by another site.
It is not marked HttpOnly. That is deliberate in the authentication library we use: the page itself has to read the token to talk to the database directly under your own permissions. The practical consequence is that a script running on this site could read it, which is why the only third-party script anywhere on this site is Razorpay's checkout, loaded on the payment page alone.
The theme, the chat transcript and any unsent form are held in your browser's own storage. They are never sent to us until you send the form yourself, and we cannot read them.
The city you picked is held there too. It is sent to us only with the one request that loads the homes for that city, and we do not keep it.
Turning them off
Block or clear cookies for this site in your browser settings and everything above goes with them. Clearing the sign-in cookie signs you out; the site otherwise works exactly as before.
Because nothing here is used for advertising or measurement, there is no opt-out to offer and no preference for us to remember.

Some links leave this site — a registry, a payment page, WhatsApp. Once you are there, that site's own cookie practice applies, not ours.
Razorpay sets its own cookies on its checkout page when an agent pays for a subscription. Card and bank details are entered there and never reach us — see payments & refunds.
If this changes
If we ever add something that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before it is set, and this table will say so. Until then the privacy policy covers everything we hold about you.
